| The course is intended to train personnel
mainly for meeting requirements of consumer sector of Ayurvedic
drugs and other traditional systems of medicines. They will
be acquainted with the manufacturing of Ayurvedic drugs and
will be qualified and competent persons to dispense Ayurvedic
drugs in hospitals, dispensaries, and other related activities.
They will also be trained to maintain the stores of Ayurvedic
drugs (both raw materials and finished products) properly. |

| More emphasis is given to teaching in basic
Ayurvedic subjects along with modern viewpoint. |

| The subjects offered are: Ayurved siddhant
evam Itihas (History and Fundamentals of Ayurved), Sharir Rachana
(Anatomy), Sharir Kriya (Physiology) Rasa Shastra and Bhaishajya
Kalpana (Ayurvedic Pharmaceutics) Dravyagunavigyan (Medicinal
Plant sciences),dispensing pharmacy, clinical pharmacy, Drugs
and Cosmetics Act, Quality assurance, pharmacy store management
, etc. |

| Intensive practical training will be given
in dispensing pharmacy at regular UG/PG OPD of the University.
The students will be trained in classical unit operations like
shodhana, marana, Jarana, Satva patan, preparation of Bhasmas,
Sindura, Vati - gutika (Tablets-capsules), snehas (medicated
oils), Asavarishtas, Kupipakwa, parpaties, etc. along with management
of raw drugs and finished product stores. |

| 2. Bachelor of Pharmacy (Ayurveda ) -

| The main aim of this Bachelor Degree
Course is to produce high quality technologists having capacity
of producing quality Ayurvedic drugs by employing traditional,
modern or upgraded or modified traditional techniques and also
to control and maintain their quality. The course has been planned
in such a manner that personnel completing it should be capable
of meeting different requirements of both manufacturing and
consumer sector for Ayurvedic drugs and other traditional systems
of medicine. The B.Pharm.(Ayu.) degree is recognized by UGC. |

| Objects and Scope : |
- To train specialized personnel
- To train him to identify, collect and process raw materials
used in preparation of Ayurvedic drugs & formulations.
- To be an expert in manufacturing of classical Ayurvedic
formulations.
- To be conversant with modern drug manufacturing techniques.
- To control and maintain the quality of Ayurvedic drugs.
- To be conversant with modern drug presentation techniques.
- To be conversant with drugs and cosmetics Act and other
related Acts & regulations.

| Different Ayurvedic as well as modern subjects
are taught over a period of four years. These include |
- Fundamentals and History of Ayurveda
- Rachana as well as kriya sharir including modern aspects
of Anatomy and Physiology
- Rasashastra & Bhaishjya Kalpana (Ayurvedic Pharmaceutics)
in all the four years.
- Dravyaguna vigyan, the science of Ayurvedic medicinal
Plants
- Pharmaceutical Chemistry, technology and engineering
- Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry
- Quality control, Standardisation and GMP of Ayurvedic
drugs
- Forensic pharmacy, drugs Act etc.

may be submitted along with the application fee of Rs. 350 (US$
50 for foreign students) by a Demand Draft/Bank Payment Order
drawn in favour of The Principal, Institute of Ayurvedic Pharmaceutical
Sciences payable at Jamnagar. |

| Foreigners will be required to complete
all passport and visa requirements. Please proceed to India
only after getting admission letter from this University and
other obtaining study Visa. The University will not take any
responsibility in this regard. |
